The main objective of Steam+ Project is to develop the creative and critical thinking skills of the future citizens of the EU by creating an innovative approach that integrates the academic knowledge in the field of STEAM skills with the ECEC practices. European Union recognises that promoting creativity, innovation and digital competence in preschool education is important and can produce benefits later. Improving creative and critical thinking skills and each child’s abilities is one of the strategic objectives of the EU framework for education and training (ET 2020) in order to become responsible citizens for the Europe of tomorrow.

Collectively the 6 EU countries participating in the STEAM+ consortium all share a common need: undera chievement’s in basic maths, science, and literacy skills.

One of the best ways of learning from each other’s experiences is the exchange of good practices in different European pedagogical circumstances. The transnational dimension provides the possibility to set up a bank for good practices that might be transferred and adopted to different languages and cultural circumstances in order to support multicultural and inclusive education.
